Paddle Boards and Kayaks

Kayak and Paddle Board Rentals

BQYC has 2 kayaks and 2 stand-up paddle boards (SUP) that can be rented by a member or a guest of a member for $5 per hour.  The cost for the rental will be charged to the members' account.   The watercraft are meant for use in the Bay of Quinte and not meant to be towed or taken away from the club on a members boat.

The boards and kayaks can be reserved by sending an email 48 hours in advance to otherwise the boards are available on a first come first served basis.  Reservations will be recorded in a date book that is stored in the deck box.

Here are the details on how to access this service.  It is a self serve model that is based on the honor system so that the equipment can be used when the bar is not open.

1) Fill out the attached waiver and drop it off at the bar (this needs to be done once per calendar year).  Printed copies of the waiver are also available at the bar.  There are specific rules on the waiver for minors please read them carefully if you are including them on the form.  Waivers for minors who are a guest must be signed by the minor's parent or guardian. 
2) Bar Staff will provide Lock Information for access to the boats, paddles, lifejackets.
3) Check the date book to confirm your reservation or see if the watercraft are free for use.
4) Write down your name, time and which watercraft (SUP or KAYAK) when you sign out the watercraft in the date book.
5) Choose an appropriate sized life jacket and wear it!
6) Get an appropriate paddle -- double ended for KAYAK and single ended for SUP
7) Launch it at the Gin Pole Dock.  Please pay special attention to the fin on the underside of the SUP.
8) Have fun!
9) Once you are done please return the equipment to the proper locations, lockup everything and indicate in the date book how long you used the equipment for.​​
