| Jubilee Commodore Sail Past Public viewing from Meyers Pier (We understand that there may be limited access to the end of Meyers Pier due to City of Belleville construction) | June 20, 2026 | Jubilee Commodore Sail Past, It will involve sailors and their boats from around Lake Ontario coming to Belleville. There will be a spectacular parade of sailboats flying their colorful spinnaker sails along Meyers Pier. We are hoping to involve the Air Force as well to do a fly past as part of the Celebration. The Sail Past will also include BQYC hosting “The Viking’s Revenge”, a long standing tradition where a group of approximately 50 American sailors make a tour of Canadian Yacht Clubs annually, including BQYC. |
| Jubilee Shark 24 Worlds Public viewing from Meyers Pier (We understand that there may be limited access to the end of Meyers Pier due to City of Belleville construction) | June 27 – July 2, 2026 | The Shark 24 World Championship regatta. The Shark 24 is a 24 foot long sailboat, sailed by 3 persons, and is recognized by World Sailing as one of only 47 one-design keelboat classes. The Shark 24 World Championship is held annually, rotating between Canada and Europe, involving about 40 boats (120 sailors) from Canada, USA, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, plus international judges and race officers, and volunteers. |
| Jubilee EYC Racing Circuit Public viewing from Meyers Pier (We understand that there may be limited access to the end of Meyers Pier due to City of Belleville construction) | July 9 – 11, 2026 | The Eastern Yachting Circuit (EYC) regatta, It is an annual event, rotating between Canadian and American Yacht Clubs from the eastern shores of Lake Ontario. It will bring approximately 40-70 yachts, including keelboats and multihulls to the Bay of Quinte. We expect 160 – 210 competing sailors, together with visiting friends and family who drive to meet them at BQYC. |
| Jubilee Day Celebration Public Welcome on BQYC property south of Victoria Park | September 12, 2026 | We Welcome the Public to Join our Celebration The BQYC Jubilee Day Birthday will enable City Residents to participate in a vibrant celebration marking the 150th year of one of the oldest boating clubs in Canada. It will bring attention to the beautiful Belleville waterfront as an integral part of our community. Residents will see that there are opportunities for participation in active water sports such as sailing and power boating, as well as dragon boats and rowing clubs. This is a lifestyle that very few municipalities have on their list of recreational activities.
